After a two week safari through Tanzania, I crossed the border over to Kenya to continue another week of wildlife viewing. There was nothing more beautiful than watching elephants roaming through the African savannah at sunrise with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. It was truly magical. Kenya is where I got to see my first cheetah in the wild. It’s also where I got to see the “red” elephants, due to the reddish terrain in Tsavo National Parks. But most importantly, it’s where I got a chance to visit the town of Tsavo, known for the legendary man-eating lions of Tsavo.
The photos below were all taken in Amboseli, Tsavo West, and Tsavo East National Parks.
