Greece will always hold a special place in my heart. After having worked quite some time on a cruise ship sailing along the Greek coast, I fell in love with this historical place.
With so many islands, it’s impossible to say you have ever seen all of Greece. But one can try, right? From world famous Santorini and Mykonos to lesser-known islands like Milos, Folegrandos and Paros, the Greek islands are so unique. Santorini for the obvious caldera views, white churches with blue domes on top of cliffs and Mykonos for its white windmills and beaches. Milos in particular is an island I really liked. The white cliffs and the spectacular waters are so stunning and not many people visit this place, which makes visiting this island even more special.
And then there’s mainland Greece, with ancient history just about everywhere. From the Acropolis towering over Athens to Olympia and the ancient ruins that represent the old Greek world in Delphi. Greece truly has it all and should be on an history buffs wishlist.
Enjoy the photos that I have taken so far, but rest assured: I will be back in Greece!
