Winter in Romania

If I had known it was extremely cold in Romania in the winter, I probably would have opted to visit in the summer.  However, my unscheduled visit there turned out to be a nice surprise and visually appealing.  I visited the small town of Brasov in Romania while on my way to Bulgaria and I had no idea how spectacular this town could look with its snowcapped domes and trees.  I arrived in fairly cloudy weather and checked in at my hotel, not too far from this cemetery (pictured above).  The next morning it was as if a blanket of snow had fallen and covered every exposed surface.  It was a winter wonderland.  I grabbed my camera (as usual) and went for a walk.  This is what I captured.  I later took a train to the town of Bran where the famous Bran Castle sits.  This is the castle where supposedly Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) once lived.
