In Spain, it doesn’t matter where you start as long as you get around and see it all. Driving through Spain is the best way to appreciate the landscape that it has to offer. Check out Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Granada and Barcelona for a taste of all corners of Spain. One of my personal favorites is the Alhambra in Granada with the mountains in the background during sunset. While you’re waiting for the sunset, grab an assortment of tapas from any restaurant nearby. Head out to Barcelona for a cultural experience. The city is alive with artists and the main Las Ramblas street is always happening. The city has architecture written all over it. It contains many of architect Antoni Gaudi’s best work including the Sagrada Familia, which is still under construction and it is not expected to be completed until 2050. Spain has many traditions, one of which is bullfighting. Although I photographed a bullfight while visiting Malaga, I regret going. I have never been in favor of this brutal sport and hope one day it is banned completely. At the moment cities around Spain are in the process of trying to ban bullfighting all together, with Catalonia being the first region to succeed in banning it! It will be a great day for the bulls! With that said, enjoy Spain to its fullest…I sure did.
