Wonders of Egypt

I decided to do a fun two week trip with my brother Miguel out to Egypt and Jordan to rediscover its ancient sites.  We started off in Cairo, our first time on the continent of Africa.  Getting to the hotel from the airport was a death defying feat as our taxi driver raced through the streets dodging cars, camels, and children.  After we opened our eyes, we had finally arrived at our hotel.  We were in the heart of Cairo.  We hitched a ride on a camel and visited the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, which appeared surprisingly smaller in person, but nevertheless impressive.  My brother fell in love with his camel so much that he was sad to say goodbye.  He gave him a good hug (I think it lasted for one minute) and they both went their separate ways.

We stopped by the Egyptian Museum to say hello to a few thousand-year-old mummies.  You can literally spend a whole day at the museum and still not have seen half of it.  We hopped on a train and headed down to Luxor, Edfu, Aswan, and finally Abu Simbel where we explored more ancient ruins.  Make sure to see Abu Simbel at sunrise as the lighting is just spectacular.  We came back up the Nile River by boat and returned back to Cairo to end our trip through Egypt.  We crossed the Red Sea by boat and entered Jordan to begin our journey to Petra.

Now we know that camels hate being touched on the back of the neck.
