Riots in Kathmandu

During my ten-day stay in Kathmandu in Nepal I witnessed a riot that broke out due to an increase in fuel prices.  Amongst the rioters were young kids eager to get involved.  It turned violent when the locals would stop any cars in the streets and attacked them with rocks, shattering their windshields and bursting their tires.  They placed burning tires as blockades in the middle of the roads to prevent buses and other forms of public transport from getting around.  This affected not only the locals but us tourists as well.  Having no way to getting to the next town, I stayed and captured what I could that day with my camera.  I want to personally thank a Nepalese friend of mine, Rajan Naharki, who guided me to safety and helped me get to my next destination.
